What Teresa Means

"You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong. You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality."
Hmmm, is this really me?

Kung Pao!

(Okay, so you know it's been pretty boring around here when the most exciting thing I can find to post about in over a week is going to be what I made for dinner tonight.) Seriously, it's just been cold and snowy, cold and snowy, cold and snowy... I go to work, come home and stay home - it's been too cold to think about going anywhere or doing anything. We did have some relief yesterday - temps got up into the 20s, so Mary and I took the twins to see "The Spiderwick Chronicles" (http://www.spiderwickchronicles.com/), and then I went over to her house for chili. Still, I was home and in bed by 8:00 pm (OK, I was awake, for God's sake, just watching TV). I went to work early this morning and literally spent all day re-doing the safety cable program - well, half of it at least - I'll finish the rest tomorrow. I came home absolutely wiped out!

Which brings me to dinner... My newest find is in the Chinese food section at your local grocery store: Wanchai Ferry Chinese Cuisine (http://www.wanchaiferry.com/)! Okay, so it's one of those 'just-add-meat-dinner-in-a-box' deals, BUT, after all, I am a working single gal and it is really, really good! The kung pao came with jasmine rice, peanuts, the little red chilis and a packet of sauce that is 'burn your lips off' spicy! Prep time is about 20 minutes and it made plenty of food. Delish!

Now, with a full tummy, I must head for a hot shower, a cozy bed and a warm Beagle to snuggle with while I watch the Super Bowl of Entertainment, The Oscars. Good night, sleep tight!

Happy Valentines Day!

Or, as I like to call it, "Singles Awareness Day". Today is the first day off I've had in weeks where it wasn't snowing or bitterly cold. So, I took my favorite little Valentine for a huge walk all over the neighborhood. We were gone for more than 45 minutes - lately we haven't been able to stay outside for more than 5 minutes at a time. It was wonderful for the both of us! As soon as we came back to the house, she drank a bunch of water and went straight to her bed. I think she is done for the day!

Numero Uno

How exciting for Beagle lovers everywhere (including me) to see Uno, a 3-year-old Beagle, win Best in Show at Westminster! Bailey and I tuned in to watch the finals and cheered right along with the crowd at Madison Square Garden. (Well, I cheered; she was napping!) Uno showed America all the best things about these dogs - they are lively and reliable with huge personalities!

It's funny how life works. Bailey has been in my life for nearly 8 years; I found her as a stray outside my place of work and, although, I tried, I could not find her family. Their loss turned into my treasure. She is the best little dog, the best companion I could ever wish for. I am truly blessed to have her in my life!

Thursday's project

With 14" of snow on the ground from yesterday's storm, there really weren't many choices of how I was going to spend my day off today. Inside, paper crafting, of course! Today's first project was a "2007 Year in Review" scrapbook page. I chose 16 pictures from last year, many of which had not made it onto a previous scrapbook page. I cropped them all and sized them into 2" x 2" squares. Using 'photomerge', I joined them all together and printed it out as one big photo. My paper stash is getting a little low, but I found this neutral/peachy polka-dot paper and matched it up with coordinating blue and orange cardstock. I even found matching ribbon, much to my surprise. The buttons were clear - I just put matching cardstock underneath them, and {viola!}, my page was complete!

still snowing!

The snow is still coming down, blowing and drifting. The plows are few and far between, only hitting the main roads. This photo is what's going on right outside my front door at this very minute. Each red star represents a car currently stuck in the snow and trying to dig out. This is just crazy! I just don't understand why people are out in this weather...
My house is smelling wonderful, perfect for a snowbound day. This morning I threw some chicken into the crockpot with a can of cream of mushroom soup, some poultry seasoning and curry powder. I'll have it over some brown rice for a simple supper. Then, I decided that since things looked so grim outside, why not bake some brownies, "just in case". Just in case WHAT? It snows? Geez! So here I am with a pan of brownies, cooling on the counter. Boy, I hope somebody I know stops by to check on me, or I'll be eating brownies until the milk runs out...
By the way, are you wondering what a little Beagle does while all of this craziness is going on outside? Take a look! Life is rough...

Winter Storm Watch

Another paralyzing storm is upon us. With a winter storm warning in effect from noon yesterday through 3 p.m. today, I'm glad that I have the next two days off! Forecasters say 2 to 3 inches fell Tuesday, and another 7 to 13 inches are expected to fall today. Although Tuesday was dominated by a wet winter mix, today is expected to be a little colder, so precipitation should hold up as snow, instead of that freezing rain and sleet that I'm so fond of!

As you can see from the picture, Bailey is even a little unsure of how far she wants to venture out... Right after I took this pic, she turned and ran back inside to watch the snow from the vantage point of our doorway. I'm sure she'll be more than pleased to spend a snowbound day inside with me! Can you see the little white specks in the pic? That's the falling snow! More later...

Super Bowl in Review

Okay, anyone who really knows me knows that I don't follow pro football - don't like it, don't watch it, don't care. The only time I might ever pay attention to the game is if there is an ex-Iowa Hawkeye playing. But, there's something about the Super Bowl that compels me to watch every year. It's an event, a milestone, a 'happening'. It's a World Championship that's settled in one game, not "Best of 7". Something about the game brings out the patriot in me as well. Didn't Jordin Sparks do a great job on the National Anthem? (I was bawling halfway through it.) The halftime show was okay; I'm not a big Tom Petty fan. (Maybe that's why I switched over to the 'Puppy Bowl' on Animal Planet - now there was some real action!) I started out by being neutral, but by the 3rd quarter I was cheering for the Giants - I thought they wanted it more. As always, my true highlights from the game were the commercials. Here are my favorites:

Pepsi Max - watch for Chris Kattan from SNL at the end!

Bridgestone Tires

Sobe LifeWater

T-Mobile - I love Charles Barkley!

Super Bowl Sunday

Here's a sneak peak of the new Justin Timberlake ad for Pepsi. Gotta love the commercials today!

Enjoy!
