Iowa Flooding

Dear Friends,

Sorry for not updating the Blog in over a week; I've been so busy. Many of you have called or emailed in the last couple of days to check on us. I just wanted everyone to know that we are absolutely fine! Yes, we have experienced several severe thunderstorms over the past few weeks, including a couple of real good tornado scares. But the flooding in Eastern Iowa that's all over the national news is not hitting Dubuque like many other nearby towns.

Downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was submerged Thursday by the rising Cedar River.
Around 100 blocks were under water, forcing some 10,000 people to flee.

The sad part is that many of the rivers have not even crested yet, meaning that it's not over by a longshot. I think the worst is yet to come... Anyone who wants to help should donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The American Red Cross honors donor intent. If you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster you can say so at the time of donation.

Please keep these folks in your thoughts and prayers,
